We recommend using the Wave as much as possible. It is reliable, free, and easy. It is the island public shuttle service and there are multiple routes from Sconset to Town and back. You can even bring your bike!

You shouldn’t need a car for the weekend, but if you are extending your stay or want to explore more of the island, there are a few options for renting a car. Most car rental companies will meet you at the ferry or the airport or provide free delivery to wherever you are staying.

Bikes are a great option if you'd like to explore the island during downtime! There are a number of scenic, paved bike paths around the island to take you to popular areas like Madaket, Town, and Cisco Brewery. The companies below allow you to book by the day or hour and are located downtown for pick-up and drop-off, as well as delivery to your hotel/rental home.

Sconset - Claudette's has a variation of breakfast options and sandwiches. Our favorite is the turkey sandwich with the works (all toppings).

Mid-Island - Best sit down breakfast. Our favorite is the grab and go juice bar :)

Mid-Island - The best coffee on island. Pip & Anchor is a boutique organic market with delicious breakfast and lunch.

Town - Cozy coffee shop and bakery with an outdoor patio.

Town - Delicious sandwiches and bakery. Known for their bread.

Town - Great coffee and great for grab and go.

Mid-island - The best lobster roll on Nantucket. A relaxed food truck with a garden patio

Town — Asian-fusion small plates, great cocktails, and a fun, lively vibe. Get the blue crab fried rice and poke bowl. They are known for their duck if you are feeling hungry! Reservations open 7 days ahead and will go quickly.

Town — Nautilus sister restaurant. Asian fusion. Great bar with live music.

Town — best sushi on island but we we love the LoLa Burger with truffle fries. Book a week out — it fills fast.

Town — Upscale seafood right on the marina. Recommend the warm Lobster Roll and their famous Cru-Cumber cocktail. Best sunset spot in town.

Town — Classic tavern with great food and outdoor patio. Lindsay Warwick says “best vodka pasta”.

Town — Fun and lively spot with shared plates. Turns into a fun piano bar after dinner.

Town — Harbor-side dining at the White Elephant. Awesome option for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Just outside town — Beachfront dining with unbeatable sunset views. Perfect for a nice dinner or sunset cocktails in one of their beach lounges.

Sconset — Beautiful garden setting with a seasonal, locally sourced menu.

Madaket — Casual, California-style Tex-Mex by the beach. Get the Fish Tacos and a Millie’s Margarita while watching the sunset. Laid-back and family-friendly.

Live music, drinks, food trucks. Our favorite bar on island. Highly recommend the frosé.

South Shore. Located close to Bartlett Farm & Cisco.

South Shore. Little shack with great food for lunch. Drive or take the Wave from town.

We love Sandbar - it is located right on the beach and has a very laid-back vibe. Jetties is family friendly with restrooms and walking distance from town.

North Shore. No waves, walking distance from town, iconic steps to get to the beach. Grab Something Natural sandwiches on your way.

Playground for the kids. Located right in town.

Best sunsets on the island. Check out Millies while you are there for lunch, dinner, or margs on the beach!
